Danielle A. Melton is the founder of Boss Mom Crew, an online community of moms who are professionals and/or entrepreneurs. She also is an adoptive and foster mom, as well as the director of a local Head Start program.

Boss Mom Crew is a community for working moms seeking sisterhood, resources, and empowerment with the goal of reimagining how career-driven women thrive in motherhood.

In this episode, the founder of the Boss Mom crew, Danielle Melton, talks about the foster parenting process, what your family needs to consider before committing to becoming a foster parent, and offers tips on making that first day with your foster child or children run smoothly. She talks first-hand about her foster parenting experiences and even how her partner went from “being on the fence” with fostering children to what are we waiting for?

Founded in February 2020, our community, which started on Instagram, supports working moms from many walks of life. We are an inclusive working mother group, from the fantastic coffee shop manager to the Bravo TV personality to one of the top anesthesiologists in Dallas—our community embodies all types of working moms.

Well, I’m Danielle Melton, a Tulsa woman who is an educational leader, foster care advocate, and working-mom visionary. By day I am a school administrator at an early childhood school and college instructor at a local community college where I teach Child Development. By night I am the founder of a national community for working moms seeking sisterhood, resources, and empowerment called Boss Mom Crew.
